Welcome to the Baker Laboratory at the University of Notre Dame
We are located in the Harper Cancer Research Institute and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. Our laboratory studies the principles of molecular recognition and communication in the immune system using a variety of structural, biophysical, and molecular approaches. We aim to understand the mechanisms by which the immune system recognizes and distinguishes between targets and how target recognition leads to various immunological outcomes. We are particularly interested in understanding immunological responses in autoimmunity, transplantation, and cancer and have ongoing efforts in therapeutic cancer vaccines and T cell engineering.
